Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures Review

If you have been living under a rock, you may not know who Mike Matei is. Cinemassacre is the home of James ”The Angry Video Game Nerd” Rolfe and his friend, Mike Matei. For Cinemassacre, I edit Monster Madness , which is 31 reviews in the month of October. Although Zelda was the overall theme of the interview, I could tell that Mike genuinely loves gaming in general. The AVGN reviews Tiger Electronics LCD games, Tiger Electronics wrist games, , and R-Zone.

Other characters in the show include Shit Pickle (an earlier character created by Rolfe), Guitar Guy (played by Kyle Justin, co-worker of the show's theme song), the Game Glitch Gremlin, Super Mecha Death Christ 2000 B.C. Version 4.0 Beta, and an assortment of others, while also the occasional guest appearance by other video game reviewers such as Pat the NES Punk.

The episode begins with Rolfe introducing the video followed by a rock-styled theme song, while showcasing fan art. Response from AVGN fanboys usually went like "You're just fucking jealous Archfag" while giving James and Mike all their precious jewgolds to make moar moineycrafta videos.

The AVGN reviews the Sega CD system and the games Ground Zero: Texas, Slam City with Scottie Pippen, Double Switch, Night Trap, Corpse Killer, Time Gal, Lethal Enforcers, The Adventures of Willy Beamish, Road Avenger, Jurassic Park, Prize Fighter, and many more.

Rolfe's character, "the Nerd", is a short-tempered and foul-mouthed video game fanatic who satirically reviews old video games in the form reminiscent of insult comedies such as Mystery Science Theater 3000. Fans of the Angry Video Game Nerd will happily purchase this mixed bag of nerd-stalgia and they won't be disappointed.

That said, with the warm reception Linkle got, it's time Princess Zelda got her own game. The show revolves around the Nerd's commentary of retro video games which he deems to be of particularly low quality, unfair difficulty, or poor design. If you watch James & Mike Mondays, you can get a pretty good idea of how Nerd episodes get started.

Rolfe's character, "The Nerd", is a short-tempered and foul-mouthed video game fanatic who is sometimes besieged by guest characters from video games and popular culture. I help James come up with ideas and record gameplay footage for The Angry Video Game Nerd web series.

So, we were in a position where there wasn't going to be any new web-videos from James on the website for roughly half a year. In the course of the interview, our guest discussed many key points he's made in past videos, what has inspired him to create Zelda content on Cinemassacre, and why he enjoys the Mike Matei series so much.

The AVGN reviews The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2600) This episode guest starts Mike Matei as Leatherface and Chop Top, and Steven J. Klaszky (credited as Jimmie Jim Slugg) as the hillbilly. So it's only natural I'd make Zelda-related videos. Cinemassacre editor and content producer Mike Matei still remembers the origin of The Legend of Zelda, and has created several videos involving glitches, swordless challenge runs, and even reviews.

9 is definitely harder than say, 2 or 3; and 10 is definitely easier than 9. But, that's how you make NES games…you have to give players a challenge or they're going to plow through it in a weekend, at most. One interesting aspect of the video is that Mike commissioned a video game hardware wizard to make him a Game Gear that is capable of video out.
